Special Performing Opportunities

Dance Centre North is entering it's “17th” year of being selected by the Moscow Ballet to be the host school for their family favorite “The Nutcracker”. Over 950 students from Dance Centre North have performed with this outstanding international company. Scheduled to perform on November 13th at the Landmark Theatre, this is a wonderful opportunity for dancers ages 8 - 13 to dance with a professional ballet company.

Students also perform the “Tarantella Suite” and other works at “Festa Italiana”, New York State Fair's International Building Stage, the New Times Theatre, and the New York State Theatre in Ithaca in celebration of National Dance Week. Dancers from the Ballet III and IV levels will have the opportunity to present our narrated story from the Angelina Ballerina series again this year in the N.O.P.L. system.

For the fourth year Dance Centre North has have been invited to present our original ballet to the story of “The Wizard of Oz” at the annual “Oz- Stravaganza” in Chittenango, New York honoring the beloved author Frank L. Baum. Our “Wizard of Oz” ballet had it's premiere in March of 2007 at the Mulroy Civic Center's Crouse Theatre accompanied by the talented musicans of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. Other Syracuse Symphony collaborations have been "Carnival of the Animals", "La Boutique Fantastique", "Rodeo", and "The Ugle Duckling".
